Envaserv Research Consult Inaugurates its Laboratory Complex in Accra

On 5th June 2014, Envaserv Research Consult inaugurated its laboratory extension at Sowutuom, Accra. In attendance were the Minister of Agriculture, Hon. Kofi Humado; the Member of Parliament for Anyaa-Sowutuom Constituency, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey; the Chief of Party from IFDC, Mr Kofi Debrah; the Director of Chemicals Control and Management Centre of Environmental Protection Agency, Dr Sam Adu Kumi; Deputy Director of Plant Protection and Regulatory Services Directorate (PPRSD), Mrs Felicia Ansah Amprofi; representatives from the University of Ghana, Legon; the Clergy; and Industry representatives.  


In his address, the Hon. Minister of Agriculture called for close collaboration with the private sector to advance agriculture activities in the country, because the private sector brings capital and expertise. The Minister promised the Ministry’s partnership with Envaserv Research Consult to ensure fertilizer regulatory standards. The Minister urged Envaserv to continue to work hard, adding that due to the satisfactory performance in testing of fertilizer, and through the IFDC’s recommendation, USAID intends supporting Envaserv Research Consult to put up an ECOWAS regional reference fertilizer and soil laboratory centre.


The CEO of Envaserv Research Consult on his part indicated that the company’s vision of becoming the number choice for environmental research and consulting in Africa is systematically being realized due in great part to the corporate commitment, innovative business model, professional and quality services.


The Director of Chemicals Control and Management Centre of the Ghana EPA, Dr. Sam Adu Kumi assured that the EPA would leverage on the expertise of the research centre.


The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Anyaa-sowutuom Constituency, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey indicated that the research centre would go a long way to develop the area and provide jobs for the youth at Sowutuom.
